Our Contribution to Local Infrastructure
Northwest Arkansas is home, and it's growing.
We're happy to partner in that growth and contribute to projects that make our slice of the world a better place to live. I wanted to take the time to review some of the work we've been doing in our communities — it's the work we feel is the most important.
Full-Scale Site Development for Discover Church
Churches aren't just buildings. They're often the heart of a community. That's why when Discover Church needed help with a full-scale development project, we jumped at the chance. One of our core values, Impact, propels us to be a positive force in our community. Churches give back a ton: they share hope, demonstrate love and kindness, and help those who need it most.
There was a lot of work to be done: an underground fireline installation, sewer connections, stormwater drainage, electrical conduit, and complete site earthwork. And like any project, there's always a challenge to overcome.
Things got interesting on this project; our team's experience really stood out when we had to bore a fire line directly beneath Weston Street, right near the school district where traffic gets heavy. Our crews worked around school hours to keep everyone safe while ensuring the church met all fire suppression requirements.
Helping the City of Gravette With Water Systems and Fire Suppression
About 30 minutes northwest of our offices in Rogers is the city of Gravette. It's an awesome little town and has a handful of nice parks and fun places for families. Sara and I love taking the kids there.
When the city started looking for bids on renovations and updates to their water and fire suppression systems, I immediately threw our hat in the ring. Any city up here that needs the help, we'll answer the call.
These are the types of projects we love to take on. We're here to build a better future for the place we call home, and we couldn't be happier to get to work once the city chose us.
Our team replaced over 1,400 linear feet of 8-inch water main across six blocks, but here's what that really means for Gravette residents: better water pressure, more reliable service, and – critically – enhanced fire protection. We installed four new fire hydrant assemblies. It was critical. Every second counts when emergency responders need access to water.
Helping Thaden Field (and NW Arkansas) Take Off
Bentonville is a critical city for life in our neck of the woods. When we got the call to serve as General Contractor for the utility installation at Thaden Field, that's Bentonville Municipal Airport (KVBT) for those who don't know, we knew we were working on something that directly impacts Northwest Arkansas' booming economy.
Thaden Field houses 56 single-engine aircraft, five multi-engine aircraft, and two helicopters, according to the city of Bentonville. The facility accommodates a mix of commercial and private flights. It has become the hub of Arkansas' FLY OZ network. It serves as a base camp for those wanting to explore the Ozarks by air and a key stop for those needing to conduct business in the area. With Northwest Arkansas continuing to attract major corporations and their executives, reliable aviation infrastructure isn't just nice to have – it's essential.
This project was massive in scope. We moved over 52,000 yards of surplus material – that's roughly 4,600 tri-axle dump truck loads – completely reshaping the site for development. We installed 800 linear feet of 8-inch water main with four fire hydrant assemblies, established comprehensive storm drainage systems, and prepared the subgrade for a new taxiway with precise FAA-compliant grading.
What made this project particularly challenging was working within FAA guidelines and maintaining airport operations throughout construction. Every cut, every installation, every piece of asphalt and concrete work had to meet strict standards. There's zero tolerance for anything less than perfect (which is great because we already operate that way).
Our contract only lasted 75 days. We had to work smart. We had to work quickly. But we never compromised on safety or quality. Projects like this showcase why choosing an experienced contractor matters. It demonstrates our contributions to local infrastructure.
Letting the Kids "Play Ball!" at Northwest Park
Major League Baseball just eclipsed its 100th game not too long ago. That means we've got a little ball left before they knock out their 162 regular-season games. The youth of Rogers aren't stopping anytime soon, either, thanks in part to some work we did at Northwest Park.
Our crew tackled a full civil utility package. In all, the main things we tackled included:
Installing 300 feet of 8-inch ductile iron pipe for water main extensions
Adding four separate tapping sleeves and valve connections for fire hydrant installations
Laying 1,280 linear feet of 8-inch PVC public sewer main, starting from a 16-foot deep manhole core located right in an existing public road
The park has undergone some massive changes. They're going to have eight state-of-the-art turf fields, and it's looking great. This park is going to give a lot of local kids opportunities through youth sports. I love this stuff. Every time I pass by the park, I know we were a part of something that means a great deal to the community.
Building Community, One Project at a Time
Northwest Arkansas isn't just where we work — it's where we call home. And as our region continues to grow and attract new families and businesses, we're proud to be part of building the infrastructure that makes this such a great place to live.
From helping Discover Church expand its facilities to serve its growing congregation to upgrading Gravette's water and fire suppression systems for improved safety and reliability, we've been honored to work on projects that directly impact our neighbors' daily lives.
We contribute to local infrastructure because we love our community. We're grateful for the support so many have shown us and want to give back by utilizing our team and earthwork expertise. That's what "Impact" is all about.
